Scientific miracles & predictions

Explore the Qur’an and authentic Hadith alongside modern discoveries, historical evidence and the questions that deserve careful interpretation.

A UNIVERSE FULL OF SIGNS

Discovering signs. Deepening reflection.

For Muslims, the Qur’an is revelation and its signs invite reflection on creation. Many readers describe connections with modern knowledge as “scientific miracles”. Here, explore 18 topics with the relevant passages, findings and context: some correspond with established observations, some depend on a debated interpretation, and some concern historical or future events.

Muslims honour the Qur’an as Allah’s revelation and the Prophet’s authentic guidance as a source of wisdom. Learning about creation can deepen wonder, gratitude and faith. The notes below bring together spiritual reflection, scholarly interpretation and scientific context, with care for the meaning of the original text.

      READING WITH CARE

      Understanding the signs

How can science enrich reflection on the Qur’an?

Studying the natural world can open new opportunities to reflect on the signs of Allah’s creation. Reading the Arabic wording, translations and scholarly commentary alongside reliable research helps readers appreciate a passage thoughtfully. A spiritual image, an observed correspondence and a historical prediction each invite reflection in their own way; careful interpretation is part of honouring the text.

What about fingerprints and numerical miracle claims?

Qur’an 75:3–4 concerns resurrection, including the restoration of fingertips. It does not explicitly describe forensic fingerprint identification or state a statistical uniqueness rule. Numerical claims need a reproducible edition, spelling and counting method; changing those rules after seeing a result weakens the claim. Neither example should be presented as laboratory proof of revelation.

Can a particular mummy be identified as the Qur’an’s Pharaoh?

Qur’an 10:92 describes the preservation of Pharaoh’s body as a sign. It does not give his personal name or identify a modern museum specimen. Connecting it to a particular mummy requires independent historical evidence; preservation alone does not settle that identification.

Do these reports predict the date of the end of time?

No. A discussion of signs does not supply a timetable. In the Hadith of Jibril, the Prophet does not claim to know when the Hour will occur. Qur’an 31:34 places knowledge of the Hour with Allah. Do not turn buildings, weather or political events into a calculated date.

      How were the sources selected?

The Qur’an links open passages on this website. Hadith references come from Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, recognised as authentic collections in Sunni Islam; short summaries do not replace commentary. Bukhari reports can be read in the local English library. Muslim reports have local summaries and links to the full report. Modern evidence links to research papers or official science, history and public-health sources. Sources checked 9 October 2026; interpretations can differ and scientific explanations can develop.
